January 2024 Bible Study
The next Bible Study program will start on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. We will study The Gospel
According to Matthew. Matthew presents Jesus of Nazareth as a great teacher and Son of God,
emphasizing that he is Emmanuel (“God with us”). It follows the story from the virginal
conception of Jesus, through his public ministry, to his passion, death, and resurrection, and
commissioning the disciples to evangelize the whole world. This is a 9 week session, meeting on
Tuesday nights in the Activity Center and on ZOOM, through March. New members are most
welcome. Come and enjoy lively discussions.
Program Details: Study program based on the Little Rock Scripture Series and utilizes instructional videos to supplement the readings. The program provides an opportunity to enhance your knowledge of the Bible in a facilitated, small group discussion setting. Spring and Fall semester series; approximately 10 weeks each. Weekly sessions of 1.5 - 2 hours. Attend when available; no advance commitment required. Advance reading of weekly lesson is strongly encouraged (45 minutes).
Qualifications: Catholic, age 18 or older. Not necessary to be a St. Jude parishioner. Interest in broadening your knowledge of the Bible and its relevance today. Interest in sharing your understanding of the Scriptures with other Catholics.
